Marshmallow Brands Innovate in Time for S’mores Season

The weather is getting colder, the days are getting shorter, and people are breaking out their fire pits for the season. In order to take advantage of all of the consumers making s’mores and sipping hot chocolate, marshmallow brands have started debuting exciting new products and packaging.

Jet-Puffed® Leans into Their Quirky Side

This bubbly redesign features new brand characters, known as the “Puff Pals.” The logo has also been modernized and simplified, adding more appetite appeal by reminding shoppers of the pillowy marshmallows inside.

According to JB Hartford, the creative director who led this project, “from the beginning, we knew that the Jet-Puffed® brand world should extend beyond just packaging. Simple, sweet, euphoric fluffiness practically begs to be shared. The vibrant colors and witty tone of voice, along with the brand’s characters, provide a playful, energetic toolkit for expressing the brand’s personality: delightfully uncomplicated, upbeat and quirky.”

Lucky Charms® Makes Fans’ Dreams Come True

Everybody knows that the colorful marshmallows are the best part of Lucky Charms®, and many fans have been calling on General Mills to sell the treats directly. Now, the brand is making dreams come true with a limited-edition release called “Just Magical Marshmallows.”

The resealable bag differentiates the product from the boxed cereal line, and it reinforces the idea that this is meant to be a snack. The packaging also feels surprisingly premium, and it looks like an indulgent treat for adults just as much as kids.

Stuffed Puffs® Gets into the Halloween Spirit

These new single-serving marshmallow packs are stuffed with chocolate, letting customers skip a step when building the perfect s’more. Each treat is wrapped to look like a mummy, a Frankenstein, a vampire, or a jack-o-lantern.

As part of the brand’s Halloween push, Stuffed Puffs® has also announced an exciting musical collaboration. “To further gear up for Halloween, music producer, artist and DJ, Marshmello, will be partnering with the brand to give away autographed Marshmello helmets.”

The press release goes on to say that “his iconic helmet is a white, identity-concealing mask that has become the artist’s signature style and was also the best-selling Halloween costume at Spirit Halloween Stores last year. The brand will host the collaborative giveaway mid-September for chances to win exclusive helmets and Stuffed Puffs® Halloween bags to celebrate the holiday.”

Even though Halloween is bound to look pretty different this year, marshmallows are still one of the most popular and beloved treats of the season. Now that fall has officially arrived, we’re excited to welcome all of the new innovations that these brands have to offer.
